Safer Skin Care
Looking for a safe sunscreen can be a challenge. I like to use the list recommended by the Environmental Working Group (EWG). You want to find ones without parabens, phthalates or toxic sun-blocking compounds (oxybenzone).
Most drugstore brands of common sunscreens often contain toxic ingredients that can cause hormonal disruptions, Yikes! and potential other health problems. Stick with sunscreens that use zinc oxide to be safe.
Not Just Sunscreen
By the way, many skin care products such as deodorant and moisturizers contain toxins as well. Be aware of what products your buy for your children as their developing bodies don’t need their hormones disrupted.
