Got a Head Cold? Try Wearing Wet Socks.

head cold

I saw a bunch of daffodils blooming along a long stretch of road as I drove by. It made me smile. I love spring. Although most cold and flues are long gone by now, they can still be lurking so remember to keep your immune system boosted.

Not sure how to boost your immune system? Here is a post I did that will give you a few tips.

Even though you may take great vitamins with lots of antioxidants, such as USANA, you may still catch a bug from time to time. If you do catch a head cold, I wanted to share with you the WET SOCK treatment.

I’ve done it myself as well as on my son when we were fighting a cold last year. As my son slept, I put damp cotton socks on his feet and covered them with my warm ski socks. He did wake up in the process and said he didn’t like the wet socks, but then went right back to sleep. I assured him this would help him feel better. And it did. I tried it on myself as I was starting to get that scratchy throat feeling. I woke up feeling great with no signs of sore throat. My son was able to sleep without coughing or congestion.

Curious as to why this worked, my husband found a website with more details. Check it out and give it a try if you feel like you’re getting a cold. And remember to get lots of sleep and take your supplements.

“The Cold Sock Treatment is a simple hydrotherapy technique that is especially effective for relieving nasal congestion in bed at night (frequently better than medications and without the side effects). It also helps to stimulate the immune system in the upper respiratory tract and is relaxing for aches and chills, and helps bring on a more restful night’s sleep when sick.” http://www.heartlandnaturopathic.com/coldsock.htm

If you need help with any of this, I’m here to support and guide you. Have a great week.
