Summer is almost over but we have health webinars lined up just for you this September.
Just this morning I said to my husband, “I’m chilly. It feels like summer is over.” In Five Element acupuncture, it’s actually the season of Late Summer. You may be saying, with sadness like I did, that summer is over but may be the exact same temperature! The height of the summer has given way to the pause of Late Summer.
The Earth is about our feelings of stability. And, like me, you may not have felt stable since COVID hit in March. Earth is like the archetype of an Earth Mother who gives nourishment, has an abundance of compassion and cares for its young, who feel safe and protected, yet with space to grow.
STOMACH AND SPLEEN
These are the organs of the earth element. The Stomach is the “Official of Rotting and Ripening.” It’s about your ability to take in nourishment, nurture yourself, and to feel full and satisfied with the fruits of your labor. When you lack balance, you can feel neediness, loneliness, and emptiness.
The Spleen is “The Official of Distribution” which enables you to move your energy (Qi) to each and every cell in your body. You know you have the resources to call upon when needed. When this is out of balance, worry and concern will consume your thoughts.
I’d like to encourage you to think about what’s next for this this fall. Fall is the time when nature rids itself of what is no longer needed. With the fallen leaves it produces compost, enriching the soil. In turn, this ensures the next cycle has the nutrients it needs to grow.
If you’re anything like me you may be experiencing ZOOM fatigue. I’m now being very selective in what I sign up for and what I spend my energy doing. Here are a few things I thought you might enjoy.
