Spring Whole Food Cleanse

I often get questions about how to do a cleanse that is food based rather than juice or some other extreme regimen. Well, I recorded a podcast with all my best suggestions when it comes to whole food cleansing.

[tweetthis]Doing a cleanse can help clear up minor and sometimes, major symptoms as well as increase your energy[/tweetthis] and give you a renewed sense of well-being. It can also help sort out foods that you may be sensitive or allergic to. I recommend removing foods that are the most common allergens, such as gluten, dairy and soy. Refrain from alcohol, nuts, seeds and all packaged and refined foods during the cleanse. You can reduce or eliminate caffeine if you prefer. Eat lots of cooked, seasonal veggies and not too many salads unless the weather is really hot.

It’s important to remember your nutritional supplements too. Our soil, air and water all have  greater amounts of synthetic toxins, pesticides and heavy metals. Our food is more nutrient depleted than ever before. Did you know that the white potato has lost all it’s Vitamin A? Not to mention you’d have to eat 2 potatoes today to get the same amount of Vitamin C, Iron, and Riboflavin as one potato just a decade ago.

I suggest USANA’s Essentials, Fish Oil, Proflavenol C, Hepasil, and CoQ30. Listen to the podcast on Podomatic or iTunes for all the details on the supplements as well as eating whole foods for a spring cleanse.
