No time for Breakfast? Try this simple solution.

I hear it so frequently with my patients. "I don't have time to eat in the morning with the kids, school and getting out the door on time." Or "I'm just not hungry in the morning." If either of these sound familiar, then I've got a great solution for you. Breakfast does not have to be a big deal. But you do need to eat something to rev up your metabolism. Remember, you've just fasted all night. Unless, you're a sleep eater. So your body needs fuel in the morning. I suggest something super simple. Start with a cup of warm lemon water and then have some toast with nut butter on it. I like a sprouted grain bread as that's low-glycemic (doesn't boost your sugar levels) and sunflower seed butter or almond butter. That's it. Takes less than 5 minutes and will get you set and going in the morning. Kids love it too. And, if you're a coffee or tea drinker, having the warm lemon water first thing will hydrate you before the caffeine dehydrates you.
